Unit 6: Overtaking, Parking & Vehicle
Unit 6 covers advanced manoeuvres and your vehicle. Five overtaking topics explain the sides for passing, the look-assess-decide-act sequence, the mirrors-signal-shoulder check-speed-move routine, the requirements before you start and the many places where overtaking is prohibited. A further topic covers passing stationary obstacles and parked cars.
The unit also covers stopping and parking rules, vehicle lights and beams, dashboard warning lamps and the climate controls that keep your windows clear. Many of the prohibition questions are scenario based, so read each situation carefully and remember that if you are in doubt about overtaking or parking, the safe answer is usually not to do it.
