KSA Driving Theory Practice

Unit 5: Speed & Distance

Unit 5 is about controlling speed and space. It explains that speed limits are maximums and that you must reduce speed for curves, weather, poor visibility, pedestrians, animals and road surface. It covers speed limit signs and what applies when no other sign is shown.

The unit also teaches the two-second rule for following distance, when to increase your safety distance, and the handbook's economic driving tips, such as looking ahead, keeping a constant speed, checking tyre pressure and using the air conditioner sensibly. The distance questions use simple formulas and reference points, so they are good for building confidence with the numbers before you try mixed practice.
