Sign Types: Practice Questions

Before learning individual signs, it helps to recognise each family by shape and colour. This topic covers the basics: warning signs are red-framed triangles, prohibition signs are white circles with a red frame, mandatory signs are round and blue, right-of-way signs are octagonal or point-down triangles, guide signs are rectangular or square, and temporary work zone signs are yellow with a red frame. You will also see why signs are reflective, that signs are mainly placed on the right side of the road, and a few example signs such as detour and roadworks.
